We have decided to take Alyssa back to Cleveland. She and I will be leaving in a week and will be gone for almost 3 weeks. She will be having some brain mapping done, have surgery to place grids on her brain to give the doctor's a clearer picture of where her seizures are coming from, and then if we do get that information and it will be beneficial to remove it, she will have surgery to resect the seizure focal point. How crazy is that? Jeff and I have really struggled making this decision, but we feel like this is the best chance that she has to truly be seizure free. Alyssa is also ready to go. She is scared to death, but is so tired of these seizures, that she is ready to try.
She and I won't be home until a few days before Christmas so I have been frantically trying to get all of our Christmas preparations ready and get she and I ready for this trip. It is coming up fast. Jeff will be joining us for a week of our stay, so I am also trying to get everything arranged for Tyler and Jared. Luckily we have amazing family and friends who are willing to help us out. We couldn't do it without them!
Jared likes to keep us on our toes as well. Last week he fell off the chair in the family room and broke his elbow. It is a mild break, luckily, but he is sporting an awesome green cast on his left arm from arm pit to wrist. He has adjusted well and hopefully won't need it for too long. The poor boy was absolutely miserable the night he did it. He cried all night and I was counting down the minutes until I could take him to the insta-care that morning! :) He is amazingly resilient though. Once he got his cast on, he has hardly complained at all about it.
I know that I have said it before, but my children are my heros! They are so tuff and I am grateful for all that they are teaching me!
